suburb summer
warm weather calls us from our electronic devices to the outdoors where we will swim in chemical filled water and walk along busy streets.
Following the echo of bass beats we will find alcohol and for a night we will forget that we are trapped in a town only growing in size by the amount of public schools and cookie cutter houses.
The neighbors are watching and they will most likely tell our parents but they don’t even realize that they have made this town and they will die here working their nine to five jobs and spreading stories of the neighborhood kids.
and maybe we will end up just like them pressing parts in a factory where our fathers worked
but you wont
because for once maybe someone in the god forsaken town will make something out of themselves, you were never one for repetition.
I am a studio art student and I wouldn't choose to be anywhere else in my life right now.
I don't feel like I'm waiting to start my life because I know I'm doing what I love to do.
